Red River Bridge Demolition in Clarksville TN

Clarksville, TN - The Tennessee Department of Transportation crews demolished the remaining cantilever bridge over the Red River on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard (US 79/State Route 13) in Clarksville on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011. Explosives detonated at approximately 12:02am to bring down the structure. The remains of the bridge fell into the Red River, and will be removed. Traffic on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard was stopped for approximately five minutes when the blast took place.
